2019 Redcote Heathcote Shiraz Tasting

 2019 Redcote Heathcote Shiraz

Tasting Notes:

Displaying a deep, vivid crimson hue with signs of colour evolution, this wine exudes aromas of dark stone fruits, ripe satsuma plum, rhubarb, bitter chocolate, white pepper, and moist red clay. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, featuring flavours of juicy ripe plums, crunchy cacao nibs, and chocolate ganache. It concludes with a long, refined finish, accompanied by well-integrated, fine chalky tannins. This wine will mature gracefully over a decade, and while it is currently enjoyable, it will reach its peak in 2-5 years, revealing more complex tertiary and earthy notes as it softens. It pairs perfectly with charred dishes (think barbecue), such as smoky eggplant, fillet steak, or lamb kebabs.
