2016 Vineyard Road Estate Shiraz
This one you may say is the "Pick of the Bunch".
Why is that? Well imagine a team with decades of experience in the most premium wine regions of Australia that get together to create a wine label that only consists of select small parcels of fruit from some of their favourite vineyards. This is Vineyard Road.
Now lets take that label and select grapes from the premium Belvidere region on the outskirts of Langhorne creek where Vineyard Road's best fruit is grown. Of that take the best parcel of shiraz and that's how you create the Vineyard Road Estate Shiraz!
Now you know why we want it in the cellar!
Wine Orbit has given this a cracking 95 points describing it with notes of blackberry, cured meat, vanillin oak and hazelnut. Expect a bit spicy like a lot of good Aussie Shiraz's and you have something perfect for a winter's night by the fire.
For those that like something a bit heavier this is the one for you! Tannins in abundance that will smooth out over time in your cellar.
A wine this good will change over time. If you like your strong tannins with some strong fruit grab it early but if you like something a little smoother, silky and still robust this could go all the way to 2033!
