Rob Dolan, a veteran wine maker of 30 years who knows every nook and cranny of the Yarra Valley. Maybe he IS MR. Yarra Valley! Having worked in the industry for so long you can imagine he has built a pretty expansive network.Rob Dolan Wines capitalizes on this network by selecting the finest parcels of fruit from various locations. They describe their philosophy as a 'village approach'.

There's always a story right?? Well get this. Did you know Rob started in wine after a successful AFL career including 2 premierships! Talented right?!

So what about the Black Label Chardonnay? Normally exclusive for cellar door customers and on-premise (restaurants) customers this Black Label range features special One Off batches making them incredibly special and unique! Each year will be different and the 2020 Vintage was defined by the cool ripening conditions and rain across the harvest period. Crop levels were low across most varieties. The conditions resulted in higher acidities in both whites and reds - meaning it should age well. 

It's a great buttery chardonnay, not too much oak but certainly present. We would cellar this for anywhere between 0 and 8 years.
